A Workshop for Newer Therapists
When you know the theory, but still freeze in the room.
A workshop for interns, provisionally licensed clinicians, and early-career therapists who want practical help making sense of what to do next in session.
Sometimes it can feel like…
- "Am I doing this right?"
- "What do I say next?"
- "Why do I feel so unsure when I technically know what I'm doing?"
We'll look at the moments that make you second-guess yourself and give you a simple way to think through them.

The Real Problem
You're not underqualified.
You're under-supported.
Many newer clinicians leave school with care, information, and a stack of therapy models, but not enough practice deciding what actually fits in the moment. You may still feel unsure about:
- How to choose an intervention in the moment
- How to stop comparing yourself to more seasoned clinicians
- How to structure sessions without sounding robotic
- How to trust your instincts without feeling like you're "making it up"
- How to explain your approach to clients
This workshop gives you a way to slow down, sort through the noise, and make more thoughtful clinical choices.
Who This Is For
This is for the clinician who is still finding their footing.
✦Interns, provisionally licensed clinicians, and newer therapists
✦Clinicians who learned theories but want help applying them naturally
✦Therapists who feel anxious before or after sessions
✦Clinicians who second-guess their interventions
✦Therapists who want to sound like themselves, not like a script
For the therapist who cares deeply and wants more support connecting the dots.
The Promise
Leave with language you can actually use.
The goal is not to make you a perfect therapist. It is to help you feel more prepared for the real questions that come up in session.
Inside the Workshop
What you'll begin to clarify
01Why the beginning can feel so awkward, even when you care and know the material
02How to work with different therapy approaches without getting lost in them
03How to start identifying your own clinical lens
04How to think through "what do I do next?" in session
05How to explain your work in plain language
06How to trust your presence, not just your interventions
A useful place to pause and sort things out - not another training that leaves you with 100 things to memorize.
The Framework
A simple way to think through your work
This workshop introduces the foundation of the CLEAR process - a framework for noticing what is happening, choosing your next step, and talking about your work more naturally.
We will not cram every therapy model into one workshop. We will focus on a map you can come back to when you feel unsure.
Your Takeaways
By the end of the workshop,
you'll walk away with:
A better understanding of why you feel stuck or unsure
Language for describing how you work
A more organized way to think about your role as a therapist
A simple way to review sessions without picking yourself apart
More permission to be human in the therapy room
A next-step path if you want deeper support
You will not walk away knowing every intervention for every client. You will walk away knowing what to practice next.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this clinical supervision?
No. This workshop is professional development for newer clinicians. It is not a replacement for supervision, consultation, therapy, or legal/ethical guidance from your board, supervisor, or workplace.
Is this only for private practice clinicians?
No. This workshop can support newer clinicians in agency, school, group practice, community, and private practice settings. The focus is on how you think and show up in the work, not just business building.
Do I need to know my niche already?
No. This workshop is a good place to begin noticing what feels aligned before forcing yourself into a niche too early.
Will this teach me one specific therapy model?
No. This is not a model-specific training. It helps you think about therapy styles, clinical presence, and your own way of working.
Is this for established clinicians?
This is best for newer clinicians, interns, provisionally licensed clinicians, and therapists who are still finding their voice. If you already feel very established and clear in your approach, this may not be the best fit.
Will there be a replay?
Details will be shared when registration opens.
You do not have to figure it all out alone.
Feeling unsure does not mean you are not meant for this work. It usually means you need more space to practice thinking like yourself.
If you're a newer clinician who wants a better starting point, this workshop is for you.
